Wynwood CCIM Networking Event at R House

May 4 2016 - CCIM's and guests attended a networking social event at R House in the heart of Miami's vibrant Wynwood Arts District.

Bank United sponsored the CCIM commercial real estate group of about 60 Realtors and guests that met at this popular hot-spot after hours for networking.

Wynwood is home to approximately 80 art galleries, retail stores, shops, and bars.  It is one of the largest open-air / street-art locations in Miami.  This area was formerly a commercial warehouse and manufacturing district.  Since the recovery from the recession developers have renovated older deprecated warehouses, transforming them into art galleries, art spaces, restaurants/bars, cafes, and other creative businesses.

Wynwood Walls is a well known public art space with interesting artists featured and murals painted on walls. Land prices and rents have soared and the area continues to evolve with new businesses and mixed use projecting planned for the area.

Similar to the Design District to the north, this "in-fill" area north of the downtown's core was not improved to its "highest and best use" as Miami's population grew. The area that was formerly improved with one story warehouses is well located and the commercial zoning allowed for these uses and it was possible and logical to renovate and improve the area.  It has good  access from I-95, Miami Beach and this in-fill location and transportation allowed for the growth of the area.
